Turismo


Tourism is an area of recent growth in Los Mochis. Due to the location of this city, it is a starting point to diverse places of the Mexican Republic, especially to the states of Chihuahua and Baja California Sur.




Topolobampo is an industrial and tourist port located in the bay of the same name, 20 kilometers from Los Mochis. It was founded by Albert Kimsey Owen in 1884. According to the 2010 census Topolobampo had a population of 6,361 inhabitants. It is along with Mazatlan, the only two high-altitude ports in Sinaloa. Topo, as it is abbreviated to the port, has yacht and marine clubs. It is also the starting point to La Paz, Baja California Sur, by ferry.






The Maviri is an island located in the bays of Topolobampo and Santa María. The Maviri is a protected natural area. It is 25 km from Los Mochis and 10 km from Topolobampo. The beaches of the island El Maviri are a regional tourist destination, especially during Holy Week. It has an approximate length of 5 km, and a maximum width of 500 m. The Maviri has many seafood restaurants.



CUEVA DE LOS MURCIELAGOS

On the road almost reaching the island of El Maviri, is the Cueva de Murciélagos. It is a refuge for millions of these mammals, that every afternoon when hiding solsalen in search of food, creating involuntarily with their sounds and massive flight a surprising spectacle.
It is an area where year after year arrives approximately three million bats that feed on insects which benefits the crops of the region, also represents a natural spectacle in the sunsets when leaving the cave to feed.


EL FARALLON

The Farallón de San Ignacio is a maritime symbol of the northern region of Sinaloa. It is the second largest marine rock outcropping in the world of its kind, is located in the Gulf of California, approximately 30 km from the coast of El Maviri. It has an extension of 17 hectares, a height of 110 m, and serves as a reference to mark the entry and exit of the bay of Topolobampo





VILLA DE AHOME


It is a town founded in 1605, which from 1917 to 1935 was the head of its namesake municipality. It is located approximately 20 km from Los Mochis. In 2010, he obtained the state distinction of Pueblo Señorial de Sinaloa. Its tourist attractions are the Historic Center, San Antonio de Padua Church, the Blue House Benz Juarez Plazuela, Jesse Maxwell Park, Entrance Arch, Community Museum, ex-hacienda del Águila Azteca, Álvaro Obregón school, Sindicatura building, Río Fuerte and the Yoreme Ceremonial Center in Florida.


SAN MIGUEL ZAPOTITLAN

It is a town located 15 km north of Los Mochis. It was founded in 1608. It is an important settlement of indigenous Yoreme famous for its great indigenous ceremonial feasts. Its most significant celebrations are those of Lent and Holy Week, season in which they dress with their clothes of Jews or Pharisees made of blanket, complemented with handcrafted masks.

SIERRA TARAHUMARA

The Sierra Tarahumara is a tourist mountain range that is part of the Sierra Madre Occidental, in the southwestern part of the state of Chihuahua. It is a native region of indigenous Tarahumara or Rarámuris.
To get there, take the Chihuahua-Pacifico, Chihuahua-Pacifico or Chepe train, which runs from Los Mochis to the city of Chihuahua, its route has 86 tunnels and 37 bridges in a distance of 653 km, going from sea level in Los Mochis to a maximum height of 2,600 m, before descending to the city of Chihuahua at about 800 m altitude.





BARRANCAS DEL COBRE



The Copper Canyon or the Copper Canyon is called the system consisting of seven ravines. Located in the Sierra Tarahumara in the southwest of the Mexican state of Chihuahua in Mexico. The Copper Canyon (as they are called locally) are crossed by the Chihuahua to the Pacific train route, known as "el Chepe". In the section Divisadero-Los Mochis, the train goes into the mountain to cross the rugged geography, passes cliffs precipitous, crosses 86 impressive short and long tunnels, and 37 spectacular bridges that plow rivers. This is an important transportation system and a tourist attraction.


LA PAZ

La Paz is a city in Mexico, capital of the state of Baja California Sur and at the same time the capital of the municipality of La Paz, located south of La Paz Bay, on the coast of the Gulf of California, south of the Baja Peninsula. California.
The starting point to La Paz is the port of Topolobampo, by means of the ferry boat.


LOS CABOS
Los Cabos is one of the five municipalities of the state of Baja California Sur, Mexico, and is located in the extreme south of the state. The municipal seat is San José del Cabo and the most important city is Cabo San Lucas, 32 km from the head. This area is one of the most important tourist destinations in Mexico.
The starting point to Los Cabos is the port of Topolobampo, by means of the ferry boat.
